Products nominated in the competition were judged on three criteria: the impact they have had on staff and customers, their ability to speak to hearts and minds, and the potential to affirm Christ-like living. The winners will be announced at “The Gathering 2010,” a Christian bookselling event sponsored by Christian Retailing magazine. yoarsCharisma magazine has named Marcus Yoars as the new editor of Charisma magazine. he will be leading the magazine in an initiative to better serve readers with expanded digital editions, a new iPhone application, as well as a redesigned print magazine.

Yoars served as editor of Ministry Today magazine for the last three years and is only the third editor of Charisma in the magazine’s 35-year history. Yoars, 34, has been in the publishing industry for more than 15 years, including editorial positions at Focus on the Family and Thomas Nelson Publishers. He was born and raised on the missionary field in Hong Kong and is a graduate of Auburn University.

Curtis-RiskeyCurtis Riskey has been appointed Executive Director for CBA, the Association for the Christian retail industry, effective immediately, according to a CBA news release. Riskey has been serving as CBA interim executive director since November 1, 2009, and has served with CBA since October 2007 in the role of strategic solutions executive.
